When to use fibreglass for a plunge pool?

Transcription

There’s really only two specific scenarios where we’d recommend a fibreglass pool over a concrete pool, if you want a temporary pool, if you maybe you’re going to use it for a few years, and then you know you’re going to develop the property, or you’re going to do something different with the land, and you’re going to want to take the pool out again in a short period of time. Concrete is very hard to get out. You’ve got to get a guy in there with a wet saw who cuts it all into into chunks, and then a big digger comes in and puts it into trucks. And it’s a lot of weight to take away, whereas a fibreglass pool easy to break up, pack down and and dump because it’s quite light. So if you’re looking for a temporary solution, maybe only for a few years, fibreglass could be an option in that scenario. If you’re looking for a more permanent solution, it’s probably going to be concrete, unless you need to lift the pool right over a house, and it’s a large house with a long reach, because there’s no access to get machinery into the backyard. Then in some situations, especially if there’s a bit of a slope and it’s a bit awkward, we might recommend a fibreglass pool in that situation, because they are so much lighter we can get a longer reach with the crane, and you can actually get away with a smaller crane sometimes to get the pool into location for a fibreglass pool. That’s really the only two times I’d use it. One is a temporary solution, or one is if we’ve got a very difficult crane access scenario. Outside of those two scenarios, I go with concrete every day of the week. It’s very strong, durable, beautiful, permanent solution.
