How can I heat my plunge pool?

Transcription

A lot of people ask about heating for their pool. If you want to enjoy your pool year round, you might want to look at a heater. There’s a few different ways to go. You’ve seen the black pipes up on the roof, where they pump the water up and it heats up in the sunlight and comes back down. Generally don’t recommend it. You’re going to get much better bang for your buck putting solar on your roof and then using the electricity from your solar to run a heat pump. Heat pumps are a super efficient heating system, and they’re going to be the best solution for most people, most of the time. Along with heating, choosing the best filter for a plunge pool will ensure your pool stays clean and easy to maintain.

In all our pools, we include a second circuit. It’s called a circuit, but it’s a set of pipes. So one set of pipes goes to your filter and then comes back, brings water back, clean water back into the pool. The other circuit is for the heat pump. So if we don’t install a heating circuit right up front, very difficult to do later. Literally, the only way to do it, because it’s all concreted in, is to put the heat pump on the filter circuit. Not an ideal solution. If we put in a second circuit, it’s almost no cost to you now, and if you never use it, it’s fine. It can sit there forever with not a problem in the wide world. However, if one day down the track, you want to put a heater onto the pool. You’ve got all the pipes there. You can literally just buy the heater, plug it in, get it going, and you’re good to go. For a custom plunge pool, we can ensure all features, including heating, are pre-planned to give you the flexibility you need.
